CANCER and 'ESSIAC TEA'  - is it a Cancer Killer?

Just a short scroll down and you'll find information about the well documented   "Cancer Killing claims" of -  'ESSIAC  TEA'  & the story of a self-sacrificing Registered Nurse from Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada who made it so famous from the 1920's - up to her death in the late 1970's and beyond, right up to our present day.

ESSIAC TEA information section

JUST BELOW YOU'LL FIND information about the Canadian Registered Nurse from Bracebridge Ontario, Canada, named Rene' Caisse

She treated & cured hundreds of CANCER patients, (no charge) from the 1920's through the late 1970's  using a ' 4  HERB Blend' tea, ( an Ojibwe Indian formula), which is now world renowned, called  'ESSIAC TEA.

Her life story, as given through the pages of the green booklet shown below, can be read in PDF format (below also), on your computer screen, It's facinating!

All documents to read are found near the page bottom on the right hand side.

Once you've educated yourself somewhat, please come back to this section and click the 4 links here, which open to short Video Clips about, or in most cases with Rene' Caisse herself (in her later years) telling many of her experiences in person.  What a great lady & caring person she was, and how fortunate we, in this century, to still benefit from this Cancer fighter & the many 'additional health benefits' derived from her original formula of 'Essiac' Tea, (Caisse spelled backwards). This amazing Tea blend, is still used today worldwide, & is available here at Apple Tree Bulk Herbs, where it's called the 'Burdock Blend' (due to copyright), but is a replica of the original recipe Rene' Caisse used in later years, as stated in an affidavit by her long-time close friend Mary McPherson.

The Burdock Blend (& Essiac) formula is a 'decoction', not an 'infusion'.

When making an infusion, you add hot water to leaves or flower to extract the active ingredients, like making a tea.

On the other hand, a decoction is stronger.  Hard materials such as barks, roots & seeds are boiled for some time in a covered container. Essiac & subsequently the 'Burdock Blend' is usually referred to as a tea because extra water is added to the decoction to dilute it before sipping like a tea.

What I've noticed about the Burdock Blend, is that the taste is subtle, almost indestinct, and tastes pleasant cold as well as warmed.

Decoction = Tea made from bark, roots, seeds, twigs and berries. Put 1-3 tablespoons of cut herb, seed, root, bark, etc into a pot of 16-32 oz of water and allow to sit in non-boiled water for at least 5-10 minutes. Set on stove and bring to a slow boil then turn down to a simmer for 10-30 minutes. Strain and drink. Will keep about 72 hours if kept refrigerated. Most decoctions can also be brewed via single cup through a regular infusion process as noted above but without the strength.

Infusion = Tea made from leaves, flowers and light material. Put 1-2 teaspoons of herbal tea material into a brewing utensil of your choice and place in a 6-8 oz size cup. Add lightly boiled water and allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes. For a more "medicinal" effect steep 15-30 minutes. Will keep refrigerated for 24 hours.

    The ‘Burdock Blend’ quantity Discounts

Each 2 oz  (57g) batch will make approx.a 2 weeks supply for 1 person when weaning onto the tea. (makes about 2 quarts) - the reason for the size is that the tea doesn't last much more than 2 weeks in the refrigerator once made.

If you're new to taking the tea, you'll want to start taking it at a very smaller doses for a few days to a week or so, until your body adapts to its potency. You can freeze some of the batch, so you won't have to throw any away, while adapting to a larger daily intake.  On average a  2 - 4 oz. daily amount is recommended for general health maintenance, once your body becomes accustomed to it.  More aggressive dosing suggestions can be found on pg. 2 of the pdf document below: 'Essiac isn't just for Cancer'.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This page will help you learn about  ESSIAC TEA [believed to have cancer-treating properties] and the amazing story of Rene' Caisse, a caring, courageous Registered Nurse from Bracebridge, Ontario, who took up the cause for nearly 60 years, of treating people with varying degrees of CANCER - at no charge - and fought the court system when needed, so as to continue her fine work of making survivors of so many who were otherwise doomed from this most horrific disease! The TEA has continued to be used for years with an abundance of positive cancer-curing testimonials found on the Internet, and amongst many of your friends, family and neighbors.

The booklet to the left is the publication we have at Apple Tree to provide free to anyone who wishes a copy. It contains the life story of Rene' Caisse, the Canadian Registered Nurse who 'documented' her treatment of Cancer patients from the 1920's til her death in the late 70's.  She was dedicated to saving lives with a special blend of herbs, believed to have cancer-treating properties.  She'd obtained the recipe from a patient where she worked as a Nurse, who had claimed she'd been cured of breast cancer with an herbal tea given her by an Ojibwa Native in Northern Ontario.

As Rene' came to treat her family & patients with this blend, she named it 'ESSIAC'  ['Caisse' spelled backwards].

I've made this booklet available in a PDF document that you can read below. The print is easier to read, as the 4" x 6" booklet has very small print. Some of the pages pertaining to court documents etc. didn't fair too well in the scan, and therefore are more detailed in the booklet, but otherwise the PDF  reproduction is quite good.

   Apple Trees precisely mixed

'Burdock Blend'  Tea

is as the original 4-herb combination Rene' used, based on the Ojibwa Native recipe she obtained (as attested to in an affidavit by long time close friend Mary McPherson), containing fresh Certified Organic

Burdock root, Slippery Elm inner bark, Sheep Sorrel herb (not roots), & 'Turkish' * Rhubarb root.

*According to Mary Mcpherson, Rene's long time friend and fellow worker, Rene Caisse switched over to using the Turkey Rhubarb root in later years, claiming it is less bitter and more palatable.  Supporters of the Turkey variety also draw on its rich history of Chinese medicinal uses over the centuries. It is widely regarded as the most potent variety of rhubarb, known in China as Dahuang.  One advantage of using the Turkey (also known as the Chinese) rhubarb is that the Chinese uses six year old roots for maximum potency. Such old plants are hard to come by in North America.

The 'Burdock Blend' comes in 2 oz. (57g) packages, enough to make a 1 1/2 - 2 week batch of the Tea 'concotion, (for 1 person - about 2 quarts).  The 'decoction' lasts in the frig. for up to 14-16 days, but if you're new to taking the Burdock Blend, it's best to start out with a lesser amount than the normal daily dose (see pdf  below re info for new users) - as your body requires an adjustment time to these 'very' powerful herbs.   Also included in pdf are: 'Those who Should Not take Essiac', 'Possible Side Effects', and 'Essiac is not Just for Cancer', + 'Instructions to make and take this blend', as well as the 'Rene Caisse Life Story'.  Print outs of these documents will be provided to each new customer who orders the Essiac Tea 'replica' -- Burdock Blend from Apple Tree, along with a copy of the book.

For new users a 2 oz. package can be too much to consume in 2 weeks, so you may wish to  simply freeze some of it until you're ready to drink it.  That way you don't throw out half of it.

Cost of each 2 oz. (57g) package is under $9.00 ea.

(see all pricing on the left below)

This decoction should NOT be heated in the Microwave!

However, since you must dilute your tea with

an equal amount of distilled or spring water, you can

heat the water alone in the microwave, then

mix it with the Tea decoction to warm it up.

- 2 oz pkg. (57g) (makes approx. two quarts, & lasts in regrigerator for about two weeks)

 Apple Trees

'Burdock  Blend' Tea

is as the original

4-herb  combination Rene' used in later years, based on the Ojibwa Native recipe she obtained, containing dried Certified Organic herbs, as attested to by Mary MacPherson.

- see quantity prices below

We only use Certified Organic Burdock root, Sheep Sorrel herb,(not roots), Slippery Elm inner bark,  'Turkey' Rhubarb root

For aggressive dosing in cases of cancer, suspected cancer, tumors, lupus, severe arthritis, and any other serious disease: Drink 3 or 4 ounce doses, 3 times a day for a minimum of 6 months. Essiac will not interfere with traditional cancer treatments, but cancer treatments may interfere with your Essiac, so it is recommended that you double your dose to 6 ounces, 3 times per day if you are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy.

For general health maintenance: On average, 2-3 ounces per day could be ingested and this can be done indefinitely. Larger people or people suffering from minor medical conditions could take up to 4-5 ounces per day and smaller people could do 2-3 ounces per day.

From my own experience of taking the BURDOCK BLEND, available at Apple Tree, as well as information I've gleaned from numerous Internet write-ups, I've written some warnings & general comments pertaining to someone who is new to drinking the tea, to hopefully help them to not 'jump in with both feet' as the saying goes, when first drinking itDon't underestimate the POWER of these 4 HERBS!  We need to respect their capabilites & our own bodies' ability to tolerate that power, by weaning ourselves onto the TEA, anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.  Each individual, being so different from another, simply has to work it out for themselves, but I've made a few suggestions to perhaps help some to not to have to undergo the massive headaches, or other symtoms I & others have encountered when first drinking the TEA.

Some people think that herbal tea is good, simply because it's a 'natural' product. Herbs are powerful and can be dangerous. Every herbal tea should be weighed against possible complications, side effects, etc., before taking them on a daily basis. Do your research!  Many people know that a great many modern day medications originated from herbs - even aspirin was originally discovered from willow tea. The herbs in herbal teas should be known and checked against any medication, whether by prescription or over-the-counter, for compatibility and/or side effects. Sometimes taking herbal tea indiscriminately can cause unwanted or unnecessary conditions, illnesses, or even death.  Always consult medical advise before using herbs in any form.
